Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey faces an uncertain future at the club, with his contract nearing the final few months.
The Ghanaian international has been a regular starter in the team for Mikel Arteta so far this season, featuring in midfield and right-back when required.
However, with his contract running down, Thomas Partey has been linked with a transfer to Barcelona, with the Spanish outfit looking to bolster their midfield.
With the January transfer window rolling around, Partey could sign a pre-contract deal elsewhere outside of England over the coming months.
While it’s unclear if Arsenal will make a move to keep hold of the 31-year-old, a potential switch to Barcelona could be impacted by some recent contract comments from one star currently at the club.

Frenkie de Jong’s Barcelona contract comments may impact Thomas Partey transfer
As Thomas Partey has been linked with a potential exit from Arsenal in favour of Barcelona, there is a potential bump in the road for any deal.
That is the options the Blaugrana currently have at their disposal, with the side struggling to register Arsenal transfer target Dani Olmo among others.
While Barcelona work out how to keep their current contingent, there is uncertainty over whether they could even land fresh faces such as Partey.
That’s while assessing the current options available to Barca, with midfielder Frenkie de Jong facing his own contract uncertainty.
If the Dutch international was to leave, that would certainly open up space to sign Partey, though that seems unlikely.
Especially after De Jong’s comments to VI, where he said: “My contract renewal is an issue for the papers here, but for me it’s not.
“I want to play football and after that I will see what the club wants to do with me, and then I will decide what I want to do, together with my agent and family.”
It suggests that De Jong is likely to stay and could stop any potential move for Partey going through in the months ahead.

Should Arsenal extend Thomas Partey’s contract?
Questions remain over the future of Partey at Arsenal because, while he has played regularly, he isn’t the future at the club.
At 31 years old and with his patchy injury record, there are doubts over whether signing up the midfielder to a longer deal would be beneficial.
With the Gunners needing to keep the squad age churning at the lower level, making room for new faces, be it from the academy or elsewhere, could be for the best.
Add that to Jorginho’s expiring contract and it suggests that, while he has been an important player, it may be time to move on in the summer.
