Arsenal are pressing ahead with transfer plans under new sporting director Andrea Berta.
Berta’s arrival in North London comes after Edu Gaspar’s shock departure back in November 2024, where the Brazilian was placed on gardening leave.
As the Gunners prepare to launch moves for further targets following the announcements of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi, it is evident that Berta is working differently to Edu.
Edu has just been confirmed as Global Head of Football at Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest and he could be about to use his knowledge of Arsenal to strengthen his new side.

Three Arsenal players Edu Gaspar could sign for Nottingham Forest
Arsenal are looking to move a number of players on from the club this summer in order to fund further moves for the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Rodrygo from Real Madrid.
Nuno Tavares joined Lazio in what remains the only sale that has occurred this summer, with Jorginho and Kieran Tierney leaving on free transfers.
With Edu’s arrival at Forest, Arsenal Insider looks at three players that the Brazilian may look to bring in from his former club.
Fabio Vieira
Edu signed Fabio Vieira for £34m from Porto during the summer of 2022 and it is fair to say his career at the Emirates Stadium has never truly taken off.
Arsenal fans have seen flashes of brilliance from Vieira but not enough for him to claim a regular place in Mikel Arteta’s side.
He spent last season out on loan at his former side Porto and with Arsenal reportedly open to selling the 25-year-old, Gaspar could swoop once again.
There is a talented player in there somewhere and even a loan move to gain some more Premier League experience could be a move that suits all parties.
Reiss Nelson
Arsenal are open to selling Reiss Nelson this summer and the Hale End graduate is already attracting interest from the likes of Fulham and Bournemouth.
Arteta is a big fan of Nelson but injuries and the form of Bukayo Saka has stunted his development in North London.
He impressed during his loan spell at Craven Cottage last season before his season was cut short due to him requiring hamstring surgery.
With Antony Elanga set to join Newcastle, Edu could be set to swoop for Nelson to provide that pace and trickery on the wings at The City Ground.

Oleksandr Zinchenko
Arsenal could have trouble selling Oleksandr Zinchenko this transfer window due to the Ukrainian international’s high wage demands.
Fulham are interested in Zinchenko, however the man who played a significant role in bringing him to North London could be tempted in a reunion.
Zinchenko is a player of great experience and leadership, he could be valuable to Forest as they embark on their European adventure next season.
With Arsenal’s good relationship with Edu, he may see it as an opportunity to grab a Premier League title winner on a cut-price deal from his old club.
