Andrea Berta is working tirelessly to answer Mikel Arteta’s prayers this summer in the transfer window.
The Gunners have welcomed two players so far, a number that is set to rise over the next few weeks.
After the announcement of Martin Zubimendi’s arrival, it was revealed that Arsenal have completed the transfer of Christian Norgaard.
The duo join Kepa Arrizabalaga as the first three signings of the 2025 summer transfer window in N5, and now, the fun begins.

Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze share key qualities that Arsenal need
Heading into the summer transfer window, from the outside, Berta’s task was clear.
Arteta wanted to sign a striker in January, but due to it being mid-way through the season, striking a deal was near impossible.
The hardships look as though they could soon be over, as Arsenal are advancing in talks to sign Viktor Gyokeres.
It’s not, however, just the Swede that Arsenal fans are getting excited over, with two other forwards in Berta’s sights.
Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Noni Madueke and are also exploring the possibility of signing Eberechi Eze.
All three players have the ability to get fans out of their seats, and when looking at a trait they have in common, it’s clear to see just how calculated Berta’s hunt to bolster the front line is.
| Player | Shots | Successful take-ons | Progressive carries |
| Viktor Gyokeres | 4.08 | 1.93 | 4.27 |
| Noni Madueke | 3.54 | 1.99 | 6.82 |
| Eberechi Eze | 3.48 | 2.33 | 2.40 |
Arsenal dropped as many as 21 points from winning positions last season and recorded 14 draws, with the recurring theme being that the Gunners simply couldn’t break down teams in a low block.
The inspiration going forward that Arsenal lacked is exactly what could be handed to Arteta through the signings of Eze, Madueke and Gyokeres.
As seen above, the trio are some of the best in their positions at risk-taking, maintaining a high frequency of shots on goal, as well as being avid ball carriers.
The three targets encapsulate what Arsenal were missing during the 2024/25 season, which is what Berta was exposed to when the sporting director attended matches.
Fearless forwards needed at Arsenal
Arguably, the best thing that Arteta has brought to Arsenal is stability, but the manager has come to realise that strength alone doesn’t win titles.
To complement the regimented style of play that the Arsenal boss demands, some fearless forwards are needed to make the difference, something that wasn’t there last term.
| Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Viktor Gyokeres | 52 | 54 | 13 |
| Eberechi Eze | 43 | 14 | 11 |
| Noni Madueke | 45 | 11 | 5 |
Gyokeres is a free scorer and a devilish runner in behind, Eze is Premier League ready, strong on the ball and has an eye for an unrecognisable pass.
Madueke is still rather raw compared to the pair, but the winger has shown a relentless energy when in wide areas, something that will only make Arsenal’s wide options better with competition.
Berta could loosen the Arsenal squad’s shackles by signing the trio this summer, who could restore excitement in Arteta’s authoritarian system.
