Arsenal are interested in signing Eberechi Eze this summer, but may need to sanction an outgoing before they can secure a deal for the Crystal Palace star.
Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard have all already arrived at the Emirates this summer, while the Gunners are set to add three more players to their ranks.
Viktor Gyokeres is closing in on a £63 million switch from Sporting, while Cristhian Mosquera is set to undergo his medical ahead of a £17 million move from Valencia.
Noni Madueke will join from Chelsea for £52 million, bringing Arsenal’s summer spending up close to the £200 million mark.
Thus, it’s no surprise that funds may need to be raised through departures for the North Londoners to sign Eze, who Mikel Arteta is very keen on bringing to N5.

Crystal Palace want Leandro Trossard in Eberechi Eze swap deal
Josh Nichols was mooted as a potential pawn in the Eze deal, with Palace reportedly keen on Arsenal’s young defender.
However, few concrete reports have developed on that front, and the right-back’s inexperience would mean he wouldn’t carry much value in terms of lowering the fee for Arsenal.
A much more convenient swap deal for the Gunners could now be on the table, with journalist Steve Kay claiming Palace are interested in Leandro Trossard.
“I’m told they want Trossard,” Kay said on KS1 TV.
“Again, when I was told I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ And then I put my tactical stat head on, and my manager’s head, and I’m thinking in Oliver Glasner’s brain, I’m thinking, ‘Yeah, I can see it’.
“Maybe I can see why they would want to bring in someone like that to score more goals.”
Trossard has been linked with Bayern Munich, and Arsenal are understood to be open to allowing the Belgian to leave North London this summer.

Arsenal should swap Leandro Trossard for Eberechi Eze
With Arsenal looking to sell Trossard and sign Eze anyway, this is a golden opportunity for Andrea Berta to enact a convenient swap deal.
Instead of having to try and source a buyer for the former Brighton man, he can simply hand him to Palace with a fee and then land his primary target.
This exchange would be a significant upgrade for Arsenal, with Eze as versatile as Trossard, but a few years younger and significantly more explosive.
| Statistical Comparison 2024/25 (League Only) | ||
| Stat | Eze | Trossard |
| Appearances | 34 | 38 |
| Goals | 8 | 8 |
| Assists | 8 | 7 |
| Shots per 90 | 3.48 | 2.55 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.36 | 0.25 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 2.01 | 1.45 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.22 | 0.22 |
| Successful Take-ons per 90 | 2.33 | 1.34 |
While the two players profile similarly creatively, Arsenal currently lack dribbling and shots in their team, and this is an area Eze excels in over Trossard.
The 27-year-old takes almost one shot per game more and completes one dribble more per 90 minutes than his Arsenal counterpart.
The deal makes perfect sense for the Gunners, and Berta must make it happen if it’s a genuine possibility.
