Arsenal might be in for a quiet January transfer window this time around but when it comes to the summer, things will kick into gear again.
Mikel Arteta’s determination to keep improving his squad is always a big factor and we’ve seen in recent summers how Arsenal have granted his wishes.
This summer is likely to be no different. A new forward player could be on Arteta’s list, with Gabriel Martinelli wanted by Real Madrid.
Is Bukayo Saka right?
Which club are going to argue this the most I wonder 🤔😂
The Gunners are being linked with a host of names, including Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.
However, if Andrea Berta gets his way, it could be another star who joins over Gordon.
The player Andrea Berta wants at Arsenal instead of Anthony Gordon
After being asked about the preference for the club in terms of a new forward player, journalist Ben Jacobs hinted at Arsenal’s preference.
And in particular, he noted that it is Kenan Yildiz who is the man on Andrea Berta’s hitlist.
“It’s really more for summer because obviously Trossard or Martinelli would likely have to depart and Noni Madueke can play on that side,” Jacobs said on the Football Terrace Podcast.
“Yildiz is the one really that I’ve heard Arsenal love, and it’s just a case of what valuation is over the player’s head because right now it would be in excess of 100 million euros, if not 100 million pounds.

“Anthony Gordon was on Arsenal’s list over the last two summer windows, but they never made a move. We know that in that summer window when Newcastle had PSR problems, it was actually Liverpool that came close to a deal there. So I don’t think we can discount Arsenal considering Anthony Gordon because he’s been there on the list for quite some time.
“But let’s see what Andrea Berta’s perspective is because the Gordon suggestion when he first came on the Arsenal radar was much more an Edu and Mikel Arteta idea, and I think Yildiz is the one that Andrea Berta really likes.”

Why Kenan Yildiz is like Gianfranco Zola
Gianfranco Zola might be associated more with Chelsea in English football but his name is synonymous with Premier League football.
Indeed, if a player is being compared to Zola, then he’s doing something right.

Ian Wright says Arsenal will win 2-0. What do you think?
And in Yildiz’s case, he’s been previously compared to the Chelsea legend by the man himself.
“There are players who have my characteristics, but today’s football is very different from the one I played in. For example, Yildiz of Juventus is a player with similar qualities to mine,” Zola once told Tuttomercatoweb.
Whether a deal for Yildiz is viable, remains to be seen. Yildiz is believed to have differences with Juve over his worth, and until a new deal is signed, Arsenal will be in the mix.
