Arsenal have been linked with a late move for Newcastle United and England star Anthony Gordon ahead of transfer deadline day.
The Gunners have had a rather slow window so far, with just a few additions made to Mikel Arteta’s team.
Riccardo Calafiori joined from Bologna shortly after an impressive European Championships with his nation Italy.
Another star of that tournament followed at the Emirates Stadium, with Mikel Merino joining the club from Real Sociedad.
Arsenal have been busy sorting some exits too, with a whole host of deals aimed at balancing the squad.
Emile Smith Rowe has already left to join Fulham, while Eddie Nketiah is expected to move to Crystal Palace and Aaron Ramsdale is set to join Southampton.
Should those deals go through, the Gunners are looking at some late moves themselves, with Arsenal making a late bid for goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol.
In the forward department, Arsenal have been rumoured with interest in Kingsley Coman and Raheem Sterling.
There is, however, one other surprising target on the shortlist in the form of Anthony Gordon.

Arsenal eye Anthony Gordon transfer
With only hours remaining in the transfer window, several big deals could still be pushed through as teams look to get their final pieces of business done.
Newcastle are a side who have struggled to do that this summer, with a failure to confirm key exits and replace them with some new options.
With that in mind, the Daily Mail reports that Arsenal have made a late enquiry to the Magpies over the availability of Gordon.
Sporting Director Edu Gaspar is claimed to be an admirer of the England international, who could be a target next summer if he isn’t landed before Friday’s deadline.
Gordon is expected to stay at St. James’ Park this summer, with the north-east club responding by kickstarting talks over a possible new contract.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal’s late bid to land the 23-year-old could change that.

Should Arsenal sign Anthony Gordon?
One of the main questions that will arise from this saga is whether Arsenal should pay a large fee to secure Gordon from Newcastle.
The winger has shown his ability at the top level, with incredible development since he moved on from Everton.
In 67 Newcastle appearances, Gordon has 14 goals and 11 assists, though the majority of those came in the previous Premier League campaign.
With just two years remaining on his contract with the Magpies, there is an opportunity for the Gunners to put some pressure on a deal.
In terms of where he fits in the current squad, Gordon is capable of playing across the frontline – though he prefers the left flank.
It would mean possible competition with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, but he could provide competition for Bukayo Saka too.
There is a chance he can play at centre-forward, though his strength is often his pace rather than his presence.
With just hours left in the window, it would be the shock of the summer if Arsenal could pull off the deal.
