Arsenal have been linked with strikers throughout the entire summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta would certainly be wise to add some extra firepower to his Arsenal squad before Transfer Deadline Day.

There are good reasons why Arsenal need a new striker, and there is still time for the Gunners to reach a deal for a new goalscorer before the transfer window closes, as long as they act fast.

The North London club will certainly need to be fast if they want to add Victor Osimhen to their ranks.

Arsenal have been linked with Osimhen throughout the summer, and it is easy to see why Arteta would be so keen on the Napoli star.

The Nigeria international is one of the most exciting talents in the European game, and has proven himself to be prolific in Serie A. In the 2022/23 season, he fired Napoli to a league title, with 26 goals in 32 Italian top flight outings.

Osimhen would add a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack, and his predatory goalscoring instincts would surely make him a star in North London. What’s more, an opportunity to swoop for the 25-year-old may have just presented itself to Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar

Arsenal must take chance to seal Victor Osimhen transfer

At one stage this summer, Napoli wanted over £100 million for Osimhen. Now, though, it seems that they have been successfully negotiated down.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, reporting on X, Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli have agreed a deal worth around £55 million with Napoli for the forward.

However, personal terms with the player are still being worked on. As Romano states: “No agreement with Osimhen so far as Nigerian striker wants an important salary + key detail: release clause to be included.”

This kind of transfer fee ought to put Osimhen within Arsenal’s reach, and whilst Al Ahli are still working to agree personal terms, a window of opportunity exists for the Gunners to swoop in with their own offer for the player.

Eddie Nketiah exit would make room for Osimhen

As per The Athletic, Crystal Palace now want Eddie Nketiah. The once-capped England striker clearly isn’t a key figure in Arteta’s plans, and needs to secure a move for his own sake in order to stand a chance of player regular football elsewhere.

His departure would create room for a new face to come in and compete with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus for the right to lead the line.

Making Osimhen that new arrival would represent a real statement of intent from Arsenal.
