Arsenal have one eye on the future with their latest transfer target as they’ve now identified a Real Madrid star as a potential signing.

Everyone knows the Gunners are regular watchers of Madrid anyway as their long-standing interest in Arda Guler continues to be reported.

However, while over watching Guler, Arsenal also have the chance to see who else might be on offer to help them.

Now, according to fresh reports, it is one of Guler’s teammates at the Bernabeu that has caught the Gunners’ attention.

Arsenal interested in signing Real Madrid’s Victor Valdepenas

Watching Real Madrid is always going to bring about opportunities to see other top players and Valdepenas is the latest to emerge from the youth set up over there.

According to The Sun, Arsenal have become big admirers of Valdepenas after seeing him in action in recent weeks.

The teenage left-back only made his debut against Alaves recently but he is already being tipped as a star of the future for Madrid.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are keen on ensuring their squad keeps on improving and that means future-proofing as well with new signings.

A key obstacle for the Gunners could be getting Madrid to even negotiate. Officials in Spain are high on the youngster and as of right now, see no reason to sell him.

Another Arsenal target, Jeremy Jacquet, is set to sign for Chelsea. Arsenal are also keen on Inter Milan’s Federico DiMarco.

Who is Victor Valdepenas?

Victor Valdepenas is the latest in a long line of modern Spanish defenders who seem to be perfect for the modern game.

The youngster is predominantly a left-back but he has also played at centre-back, where his natural ability on the ball makes him the ideal candidate to succeed in that position.

He’s already represented his country at youth levels and is expected to be given a nod by the full national team at some point in the near future, especially if he keeps playing.

One worry for Valdepenas will be the recent departure of Xabi Alonso. However, Alvaro Arbeloa is believed to be a big fan of him as well, meaning more chances could come.
