Arsenal star has now received an offer to become club’s highest-paid player if he agrees to join them

Several Arsenal players are expected to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Gunners didn’t sign anyone in January, so the expectation is that they will go big before the start of the 2025/26 campaign. Reports have claimed that Arsenal have £300 million to spend this summer.

Before they can do that, however, they will have to offload quite a few of their players, and as many as seven Arsenal stars could be moved out of the club.

One of them has now received a big offer to leave the Emirates.

The money Jorginho has been offered to leave Arsenal

Arsenal signed Jorginho from Chelsea in January 2023.

Fans of the Emirates Stadium club weren’t overly convinced by the Italian at the time, but he has proved to be an excellent signing for the Gunners.

However, Jorginho is 33 already, and his contract at Arsenal will expire in July. It is very likely that he will leave the club then.

The midfielder has been heavily rumoured with a switch to Brazil, and Flamengo have been linked with a move to sign Jorginho more than any other club.

Jorginho has even dropped a few hints about a move to Brazil recently, which has added more fuel to all the rumours around him.

Now, journalist Jorge Nicola has revealed on his YouTube channel that Flamengo have made an offer to Jorginho that would make him their highest-paid player should he accept it.

Nicola said: “He has an offer of €13 million (£10.8m) gross for a three-season contract. This means that Jorginho, if he accepts the Flamengo proposal, will be entitled to €4.3 million (£3.6m) per year or 26.8m reals.

“Dividing by 13, 12 months of salary plus the thirteenth, and we can say that Jorginho would earn 2 million reais gross.

“There is also the tax part, which would deduct part of that money. In any case, if he accepts the offer, Jorginho will become the highest paid player in the Flamengo squad, surpassing Bruno Henrique and Alex Sandro, who earn around 1.8 million reals per month.”

How much does Jorginho earn at Arsenal?

Jorginho is one of the most experienced players at Arsenal.

The Italian is obviously not the Gunners’ highest-paid player – it’s not even close – but he does pocket a handsome sum at the Emirates.

Arsenal pay Jorginho £110,000-a-week, which is about £5.7 million-a-year.

That is more than what he has been offered in Brazil, but the difference is that he will play a lot more if he joins Flamengo than he would at Arsenal if he stayed.

As good as it would be to keep Jorginho for another year as a squad player, a move away may just be the best thing for all parties this summer.
