Arsenal are preparing themselves for a big summer transfer window.

The Gunners didn’t do anything in January despite Mikel Arteta’s public plea for a new striker. Arsenal ended the window with no new signings.

That leaves them in a very difficult position for the rest of the campaign, and Gabriel Martinelli’s injury has made things even worse.

Arsenal will almost definitely sign a new striker in the summer, but before that happens, the decision-makers want a few players out.

Arsenal’s board members want seven players out of the club

Arsenal will have to make decisions on quite a few players in the coming months.

The Gunners have a thin squad of players, but that doesn’t mean all of them will have to be retained for the 2025/26 season.

A good number of them will be shown the door, and Arteta will have to make the tough decision of allowing them to leave the club.

O Dia claim that members of the Arsenal board have given Arteta a list of seven players ‘who must be dismissed or traded by the club’ this summer.

Those seven players are:

Partey and Jorginho will be out of contract in July, as will Tierney, who has signed a pre-contract with Celtic to join them on a free transfer.

Sterling and Neto will be sent back to their parent clubs at the end of their loan spells, while Kiwior and Zinchenko will have to be sold.

Arsenal will have to sign at least three replacements

The seven players mentioned above are all almost certain to leave Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners won’t have to replace all of them.

Zinchenko, Kiwior and Tierney are all left-backs, but Arsenal will still have Myles Lewis-Skelly, Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu to play there if required.

Of the four others who are set to leave, the Gunners will have to sign at least three replacements.

Martin Zubimendi is set to come in to replace Partey and Jorginho, and he would be a fantastic signing if that deal goes through.

Apart from the Spaniard, Arsenal will need a new goalkeeper to replace Neto and a top-class winger who will be a huge upgrade on Sterling.

Add a striker on top of all the above and we’re sure Arteta will be a happy man.
