Mikel Arteta will want to retain the majority of his squad to build on depth however, some Arsenal players are being linked to departures.

Gabriel Magalhaes is wanted by Al-Nassr, and that’s not the end of interest from Saudi Arabia.

Jorginho comments on Flamengo transfer

At present, the most likely transfer looks to be Jorginho, who is one of a few Arsenal players out of contract in 2025.

Jorginho is wanted by Flamengo in Brazil, where he is currently, during the international break.

The Arsenal midfielder refused to rule out a transfer when asked by the media at the airport in Brazil and now, he’s spoken to ESPN

“I don’t think I missed it. But I’m curious today to know what it’s like, to experience it,” Jorginho said when asked about playing in Brazil.

“But playing professionally wasn’t a big part of my development. What helped me was when I was a kid, for my growth.

“In Brazil, it’s a different story. I played barefoot in the street, on the beach. I think it helped me a lot in terms of my contact with the ball.”

Jorginho was born and raised in Brazil before moving to Europe at the age of 15 to further his footballing career in Italy.

Now, it looks as though the 33-year-old will return to his birth country, with Flamengo pushing to obtain his signature when he becomes a free agent.

What Flamengo’s sporting director is saying about Jorginho’s transfer

Joringho’s agent has met with Flamengo and the transfer is being discussed, with a few details to correct before his pending move can be made official.

The Rio de Janeiro club are confident that the Italy international will be their player very soon, with their sporting director Jose Bota opening up about their target.

“Right now, the ball is in his court, and he usually treats it well. I hope he treats it well so that it will be better for him and for us,” Bota told Vene Casagrande.

“In other words, he will come to Flamengo. If everything goes well, he will play in the World Cup for Flamengo.

“The league ends in May, the players change clubs and there is an agreement between the clubs to release the athletes as soon as the season ends.”

Bota is right, the ball is in Jorginho’s court, with the Italian’s next steps all mapped out when his time at Arsenal concludes in the summer.
