Arsenal are actively exploring options in the transfer market in order to ease their troubles in front of goal.

Following dropped points in the league at Brighton and a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi final, Ian Wright has demanded the board help Arteta by signing reinforcements.

Arsenal have been linked to several players this month however, as of yet, have been frustrated in their efforts to provide Arteta with more options in his squad.

Arsenal have considered Jobe Bellingham to bring some dynamism to their midfield and after having a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with his club to leave if a big offer comes in, it seems the young midfielder has given an update on his future.

Jobe Bellingham set to stay at Sunderland despite Arsenal interest

According to The Sun, Bellingham is set to snub interest from the Gunners and a number of other Premier League sides in order to stay at the Black Cats for the rest of the season.

It is thought that Sunderland were willing to allow the younger brother of England star Jude Bellingham to leave the club if an offer of around £20m was made.

With Martin Odegaard struggling to score from open play, the powerful Bellingham would have been a perfect option to rotate into Arsenal’s midfield.

The young Sunderland star has played in a variety of positions this season including sitting deep and building up play but also having licence to play off the two strikers.

Bellingham has work ethic that Arteta desires

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is known for expecting high standards from his players and it seems that Bellingham would be no stranger to hard work.

Speaking to CBS Sport, Sunderland captain Luke O’Nien recently explained Bellingham’s incredible work ethic, “He is doing his extras as well. It merits the work he does at the training ground every single day.”

O’Nien also claimed, “People see Jobe turning up and scoring the goal but I see Jobe that stays behind after training and puts himself in these position-specific areas and works on them.”

With Thomas Partey and Jorginho out of contract in the summer, midfield options are also on Arsenal’s radar as well as forward players.

It seems that in Jobe Bellingham, a player that could slot in alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, Arsenal should do everything they can to lure the youngster to the Emirates Stadium.
