Rodrygo’s future appears to be up in the air, and one emerging narrative could prompt Arsenal to investigate a transfer.

Arsenal made contact with Rodrygo over a possible move to the Emirates; however, it remains uncertain whether the winger wants to leave Real Madrid.

The changing of the guard from Carlo Ancelotti to Xabi Alonso is significant, as Rodrygo plans to discuss his future with his new manager.

The outcome of the conversation could be critical to Arsenal’s plans over the summer, with Andrea Berta scanning the market for wide players to bolster Mikel Arteta’s front line.

Rodrygo’s family question player’s treatment at Real Madrid

Rodrygo is already rated highly at Arsenal, with Mikel Merino singing the 24-year-old’s praises before the Champions League quarter-finals.

The Brazilian signed for Real Madrid in 2019 from Santos and has since won an array of silverware while contributing to 188 goals.

Though Rodrygo’s service to the Galacticos speaks for itself, it’s understood that the winger’s family believe his treatment is not reflective of his efforts.

That’s according to journalist Josep Pedrerol, who told El Chiringuito of Rodrygo’s family’s concerns about his recent lack of game time.

“Real Madrid isn’t sure whether Rodrygo wants to stay or not. On the one hand, there are leaks that he wants to stay,” Pedrerol claimed.

“His family is sending the message that he’s not being treated well at Real Madrid and is playing less than he should. It’s not clear whether he wants to stay or not if an interesting offer comes in. Real Madrid still intends to sign a striker.”

Madrid signing another forward could be the final nail in the coffin for Rodrygo, whose game time reduced towards the end of 2024/25.

It remains to be seen how Arsenal aim to approach the Brazilian’s transfer situation, but one thing is clear, and that is that he must be under close consideration by Berta.

Arsenal have to pounce on any Rodrygo opportunity

Thierry Henry has already told Arsenal why Rodrygo should be signed, lauding the winger’s ability to change games despite not being Real Madrid’s protagonist.

In a conversation with the Arsenal legend, Jude Bellingham praised his teammate for contributing as well as he does while being denied the chance to shine in his favoured position.

As a right-footed player, Rodrygo prefers to play on the left side; however, due to Vinicius Junior’s presence, the 24-year-old is utilised on the right.

At Arsenal, Rodrygo would undoubtedly play on the left, mirroring Bukayo Saka’s quality while bringing much-needed competition to Gabriel Martinelli.

Still in the earlier stages of his career, now would be the perfect time for Arsenal to be stern in their approach for the famed Brazil international, who represents the top-quality addition that the Gunners are crying out for.
