Crystal Palace appear to be bracing themselves for Eberechi Eze’s exit this summer, with Arsenal firmly in the picture to sign the Englishman.

The Gunners are admirers of Eze for obvious reasons, as the 27-year-old is one of the most exciting players in the Premier League.

Arsenal certainly need to add another attacker to Mikel Arteta’s squad before the transfer window closes, with the Crystal Palace superstar being one option.

Eze would make Arsenal stronger candidates to win the league, but the England international won’t be easy to acquire.

Crystal Palace identify Eberechi Eze replacement

It’s understood that there will be no issues on personal terms between Eze and Arsenal, as the versatile playmaker is open to a move to the Emirates.

Though the Gunners haven’t tabled an official offer to either Eze or Crystal Palace, the Eagles are anticipating that the forward could leave this summer.

Journalist Alan Nixon has revealed Palace’s interest in OGC Nice forward Evann Guessand, who is also being eyed by Unai Emery at Aston Villa.

The link will be of interest to Arsenal, as Nixon claims that Palace are holding off on committing to a bid due to the relation between Guessand’s transfer and Eze’s future.

If Eze were to leave Selhurst Park this summer, then the Nice forward would be top of Oliver Glasner’s list.

Nixon noted that if Eze stays at Palace, the Eagles have ‘less need and less cash’ to attempt to compete with Aston Villa for the Ivorian’s signature.

Steve Parish is being proactive in the market due to the uncertainty of Eze’s future, with the latest news being a boost for Arsenal in their pursuit to sign the playmaker.

Arsenal must act fast to land Eze

Parish was shocked by how little interest there was in Eze last summer, but now, Palace’s chairman is preparing for life without the creative maestro.

Though Arsenal are understood to have the upper hand in a possible move due to the player’s preference to move to the Emirates, there is competition.

Tottenham could now push harder to sign Eze after James Maddison suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season.

Arsenal’s rivals will want to sign a replacement for the midfielder if his injury is as bad as suspected, with Eze being one player admired by those in N17.

The race is on to sign Palace’s main man, a race that Andrea Berta simply has to win to give Arteta the missing piece to his front line.
