Arsenal could be eyeing a late swoop for Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson before deadline day.
Time is ticking as the end of the summer transfer window is in sight, giving Edu and Mikel Arteta an even greater incentive to work fast.
Several players have been linked with a move to North London however, the overriding theme in the build-up to deadline day is those who could leave the club.
Arsenal are certainly in need of more firepower in attack, as seen against Aston Villa last time out, with one target having the potential to provide in such area.

Emmanuel Petit has told Arsenal why Evan Ferguson should be signed
An array of talent is rumoured to be of interest to the Gunners, including Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.
Football Transfers suggest that the 19-year-old could leave the Seagulls on an initial loan this summer, which could come of great use to Arsenal.
The teenager has an asking price of £70m at the Amex, due to the potential he’s already shown in the Premier League at such a young age.
Even before the most recent report of Arsenal’s interest, club legend Emmanuel Petit urged Arteta and Edu to chase the youngster for two key reasons.
In quotes relayed by Football 365, the World Cup winner explained what Ferguson could offer that Gabriel Jesus cannot.
“Gabriel Jesus always gives his all, but he always lacks the coolness in front of goal,” Petit explained.
“I think Osimhen is more likely to move elsewhere, for example to Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United, because they simply have more money. Evan Ferguson would prevail due to his effectiveness and coolness.”
Ferguson could be a smart transfer for Mikel Arteta to consider
Arsenal wouldn’t sign an established goalscorer in Ferguson however, they would acquire a young talent with the capability of becoming a top number nine in the near future.
The 19-year-old has netted 16 goals so far in his career at Brighton, proving himself to be a clinical force in the Premier League with his undeniable presence leading the line.
While the teen has a lot to prove before his rumoured £70m asking price can be justified, signing the forward on an initial loan could be a stroke of genius from Arteta and Edu.
Arsenal have the right to question the Seagull’s valuation but, the Gunners’ don’t have the right to be picky when it comes to hiring a trustworthy number nine.
As seen already this season, Arteta cannot rely on Jesus to be Arsenal’s striker, with pressure only added by Eddie Nketiah’s pending departure.
Signing Ferguson could give the Spaniard the chance to unearth the next big thing in North London, with a lot to be said about the Irishman’s talent so early into his career.
