Deadline day is here, and there are set to be several late changes made to the Arsenal squad.

Peiro Hincapie is expected to be the only arrival on deadline day; however, a lot of movement is anticipated on the exit front.

Fabio Vieira is set to join Hamburg, while Jakub Kiwior will sign for FC Porto on an initial loan, paving the way for Hincapie’s arrival in N5.

There is also an opening for Reiss Nelson to leave, an exit that would provide Arsenal with a pure-profit cash injection, due to him being a product of Hale End.

Besiktas want to sign Reiss Nelson

Nelson has options in the Premier League, as Fulham and Crystal Palace have shown an interest in the winger.

What’s certain is that the Arsenal academy graduate’s future is not with Mikel Arteta’s squad, but whether he will remain in the English top flight is unclear.

Though it’s understood that Nelson would prefer to stay in the Premier League, there is an opportunity arising for the 25-year-old in Turkey.

Journalist James Benge reported that Besiktas ‘have expressed interest’ in the forward, with the Turkish giants willing to offer an attractive salary to the Englishman to lure him to Istanbul.

Besiktas are reportedly willing to offer Nelson a ‘salary hike’, which would see his staggering £100k-a-week wage increase.

It’s unclear whether the winger will take the wage increase and switch England for Turkey, particularly as Benge noted that Fulham ‘remain in the mix’.

There is a benefit to links to Besiktas, as if Arsenal can’t shift the attacker to a Premier League club by the 7pm deadline, the Turkish market remains open until September 12th.

Nelson’s future is not at Arsenal

Nelson was described as ‘impressive’ by Arteta during his rise, as per Arsenal’s official website, but he never quite reached the heights at the Emirates.

That being said, making 90 appearances for his boyhood club and scoring nine goals at senior level is a triumph in itself, as few players get the opportunity to sport the cannon.

Arsenal need to get Nelson out this summer, not only for the player’s sake but for financial reasons too, with the Englishman being a high earner and a figure whose market value will only decrease with no gametime.

Leaving Arsenal will be the end of a 17-year era for the forward, who joined Hale End when he was just eight years old.
