Arsenal showed tremendous resilience to battle back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Anfield.

Arsenal created club history against Liverpool by becoming the first Gunners side to come back from two goals down at Anfield in over 100 years – last achieved in 1908.

Mikel Arteta’s side dominated most of the game and should have been in front before Liverpool’s quick-fire double in the first half, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard both missed glorious opportunities.

Andrea Berta is set for a busy first summer in North London, Arsenal are monitoring Bilal El Khannouss among a number of options. Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims a bid has already been rejected for one target.

Arsenal bid rejected for Chelsea’s Freddy Bernal

According to Romano, Arsenal have seen a £1.25m bid rejected from Chelsea for their young goalkeeper Freddy Bernal.

Chelsea have made it clear they want to keep the England youth international at this time, while other clubs are also keen on securing his services.

Bernal is still just 16 years of age and has been capped three times by England’s U17 side, whilst also being called up for the England U18 training camps.

He made five appearances for the Chelsea U18 side in their Premier League campaign, conceding 11 goals across those matches.

Freddy Bernal arrival would impact futures of Jack Porter and Tommy Setford at Arsenal

Arsenal’s academy are well-stocked in the goalkeeping department following the arrival of Tommy Setford last summer.

Paul Merson hailed Jack Porter for making his Arsenal first-team debut this season in the Carabao Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers and Bernal would face stiff competition should he arrive at the Emirates Stadium.

David Ornstein believes Setford could go out on loan this summer and therefore Bernal could battle with Porter for the number one jersey in the youth sides.

The Gunners certainly seem like they are going to be aggressive this summer in the transfer market and securing top young talent has been a target of theirs for a while.
