With less than two weeks remaining in the January transfer window, Arsenal are still searching for a new forward.
Mikel Arteta compared his squad depth to Liverpool’s, as the Arsenal manager admitted he is low on resources.
The Gunners have been eyeing a forward in the January market however, despite several players being linked, there’s no sign of an imminent arrival.
Things could change in the coming days, with Arteta possibly handed a glimmer of hope as one Arsenal target is generating attention.

Matheus Cunha transfer controversy in Wolves defeat to Chelsea
Matheus Cunha is on Arsenal’s radar and has been for some time, with the Brazilian currently impressing at Wolves.
Having scored 22 Premier League goals since the start of last season, the forward would be a stellar option for Arteta to consider but, Wolves won’t want to see their best player leave.
Such might become a problem for the West Midlands club, as Cunha’s agent is making ‘noise’ amid links to Arsenal, spotting a gap in the market for his client.
As the Wolves star’s contract talks have stalled and Arsenal have made contact with Cunha, all eyes were on the 25-year-old when the Old Gold faced Chelsea, and it didn’t make for pleasant viewing.
That was from a Wolves point of view, as the forward looked uninterested against the Blues and was slammed by his manager at full-time over concerns about his body language.
“I don’t like this body language. I want someone as a captain trying to help the team, running, suffering, fighting, together. This (frustration) is something that I can understand. (But) next time I will not understand,” Vitor Pereira told the media, via The Athletic.
Wolves manager admits Arsenal target Matheus Cunha is distracted
After serving a suspension for Wolves and then overcoming a knock, there was hope that the Brazilian would be fired up to make an impact starting against Chelsea.
Instead, the Arsenal-linked forward looked far away from the action, heading down the straight tunnel at full-time, leading Pereira to comment on his future.

“He’s committed with Wolves, when you start to listen, that this club or the other club is (interested), I think it is human that players start to be a little bit (distracted),” the Wolves manager admitted.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will pounce on the unsettled situation at Wolves, who will be far from willing to see their star player leave this winter.
