Gabriel Jesus has returned to full training at Arsenal following his serious knee injury.

The Brazil international seemed to have come back to his best in December last year, but he suffered an injury against Manchester United that has kept him out of action up until now.

That has led to a lot of speculation about Jesus’ future, with Everton and West Ham linked with a move to sign him in the summer.

However, Jesus recently confirmed that he will not leave Arsenal until his contract expires in 2027. He has now revealed the club he would like to join one day.

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus says he wishes to join Palmeiras one day

Gabriel Jesus was viewed as a wonderkid when he was coming through the ranks in Brazil.

The attacker was a part of the Palmeiras youth setup and made his senior professional debut there all the way back in 2015.

Jesus’ brilliance at the Allianz Parque is what convinced Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to sign him, and that is where he met Mikel Arteta.

That relationship earned him a move to Arsenal, and Jesus is adamant that his short-term future lies at the Emirates Stadium.

However, in the long run, the forward has confirmed that he would like to return to Palmeiras, who he says are also keen to sign him.

Jesus said, as per Somos Fanaticos: “There was never contact with another club.

“My wish, as I always say, is to return to Palmeiras. And Palmeiras also want me to come back. When I feel it’s the right time to go back to Palmeiras, I’ll decide that with Arsenal.”

Gabriel Jesus may have to change his mind at Arsenal

Jesus saying he will not leave Arsenal is really admirable, but it doesn’t make much sense.

The Brazil international is behind Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz and even Mikel Merino in the pecking order up front. Leandro Trossard has also been preferred over him in that role.

Arteta does not want to let Jesus leave in the January transfer window, which is understandable as he would want all the help he can get as he aims to win the Premier League and Champions League.

However, at the end of this season, Jesus should look to move on for his own good. He is at an age when he should be playing every game, and there are plenty of clubs across Europe where he would be a regular starter.

It remains to be seen if Andrea Berta can find a solution that would suit both Jesus and Arsenal in 2026.
