Arsenal star Kieran Tierney may have said his final farewells to supporters on Wednesday night during the side’s Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb.

The left-back has entered the final six months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, following a memorable few years.

Tierney has been linked with a transfer return to Celtic, with talks ongoing over a possible return to his boyhood club.

The Scotland international can sign a pre-contractual agreement with the Glasgow outfit, which seems increasingly likely, while a permanent switch in January is also on the cards for Arsenal.

While Arsenal fans love Tierney, it does appear as though his time at the club is nearing the end in the weeks or months ahead.

It remains to be seen whether that will be in January or the summer though, given the recent links with a Celtic return.

As the star faces a possible move away, he may well have played his final match in front of the Emirates Stadium crowd.

With the next two games being away from home, Tierney may well seal an exit before the following match at the stadium in front of fans.

While the defender could well stay, the match against Man City comes just one day before the transfer deadline slams shut, so his involvement is unclear.

If his final appearance is to have come on Wednesday, he did so with an appearance from the bench against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Taking to Instagram, Tierney posted a wordless caption to an image of him in the match, showing his involvement.

Martin Odegaard was among those to respond, simply posting an emoji of two hands clasped together and a heart.

While it’s far from definitive proof, it could all tie into it being a final appearance for Tierney in front of the home fans at Arsenal.

Kieran Tierney’s Arsenal career statistics

If that is to be everything Tierney has given in an Arsenal shirt, then it brings an end to a spell that makes him a much-beloved figure at the club.

The 27-year-old has managed to make over 120 appearances for the club, having once been the great hope for the side on the left flank.

There is no doubt that injuries have been the real problem for the full-back, who struggled to stay consistently available through the years.

A change of system and personnel didn’t help his cause either, which eventually saw Mikel Arteta look at new options for selection.

Regardless of what is next though, he will always be something of a hero to those fans at the Emirates Stadium.
