Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney will leave the club in the near future, as Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed.
Tierney has been a spectacular servant to Arsenal but sadly, things haven’t worked out for the 27-year-old.
As his future in Mikel Arteta’s project has been in doubt for several years, the time has come for the Scotsman to move on, with his next destination mapped out.
Celtic have been pushing to re-sign Tierney as a pre-agreement has emerged, with another update now provided.

Brendan Rodgers confirms Kieran Tierney to Celtic transfer
A possible return to Celtic for the Arsenal defender hasn’t been a secret, as Rodgers commented on Tierney’s future prior to the January transfer window.
With a move all but confirmed, the final question was when is it likely to happen? A conundrum that’s yet to be solved.
Speaking to the media, relayed by journalist Charles Watts, Rodgers spoke about Tierney again, confirming his transfer and the plans Celtic have for their former player.
“Ideally it would [happen this month] but he’s still an Arsenal player,” Rodgers said.
“I think everyone is agreed that it will definitely take place in the summer. If we can do it beforehand, then great.”
Celtic want to sign Tierney immediately however, it’s clear that Arsenal have not agreed to his exit just yet.
The only thing holding the transfer up appears to be a green light from the Gunners, who look set to lose the 27-year-old this month if, Arteta deems it to be feasible.
Tierney the most likely to leave Arsenal this month
Tierney’s future at Arsenal has been in doubt for some time but, the Scotsman has earned some minutes recently, making five appearances this season.
While it’s now guaranteed that the left-back leaves in the near future, the Gunners must think carefully about their player’s next steps, with other left-backs also linked to an exit.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is transfer-linked this winter, as is Jakub Kiwior, who is wanted in Italy.
It’s up to the club to decide who leaves this winter, with Tierney’s exit only a matter of time – but how long?
