Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers over the course of this summer transfer window so far.
There is a strong argument that Mikel Arteta ought to add to his attacking contingent at Arsenal before the transfer deadline arrives on Friday night.
Ian Wright wants Arsenal to sign a new forward, and he won’t be alone in that assertion. Meanwhile, the Gunners have been credited with an interest in the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Ivan Toney, and Victor Osimhen, amongst others, but no deal for such a player has yet come to fruition.
Most recently, a rumour has linked Arsenal with Darwin Nunez, as the Liverpool star is thought to be frustrated with his lack of recent game time at Anfield.
However, Arsenal Insider have reported that Nunez is not for sale this summer. If Arteta is to make a late move for another striker, he will have to look elsewhere.
This has given rise to the suggestion that Arsenal could swoop for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Arsenal fans react to Dominic Calvert-Lewin transfer link
The Everton striker is undoubtedly a talented player, but recurrent injuries have decimated his career in recent seasons.
Concerned that Arteta may be about to make a move for the 27-year-old target man, many Arsenal fans on X have cautioned the manager against such a move.
One said: “Sod that. Another player who literally dies 3 times a season. We already have a striker in Jesus that does that, no more sicknotes please.”
Another stated: “DCL is the worst striker possible. I’d rather have a transfer ban than sign him.”
One Arsenal supporter added: “Calvert-Lewin is probably the worst striker in the league.”
Another simply noted that the forward is: “Injury prone.”
Due to his fitness issues, one fan claimed Calvert-Lewin: “dominic cant press defender.”
Another jokingly asked: “Ok, that’s nice. I guess it’s a new Calvert-Lewin with no injuries and has consistency right?”
Do Arsenal need a striker?
With Eddie Nketiah about to join Crystal Palace, Arsenal’s attacking contingent is due to be depleted further.
This will leave Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus competing for the right to lead the line. Though, Arsenal are waiting for an injury update on Jesus, which will determine how long he is now set to be sidelined for.
On top of that, Leandro Trossard can deputise up front if required. However, given the gruelling schedule facing the Gunners this season, in a campaign in which they will be expected to seriously compete on all fronts, Arteta would surely like another option in this part of the pitch.
However, the North London club can’t afford to be lured into a panic buy, and snapping up Calvert-Lewin, given his fitness issues and underwhelming record in front of goal in reason seasons, may well fall into that category.
