Arsenal have now been informed that they hold two key advantages over Barcelona in the race to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Julian Alvarez.

The Argentine attacker is set to become one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer, with Arsenal, Barca and PSG all chasing him.

Alvarez is dreaming of playing for Barcelona; however, Rojiblancos are going to make it very tricky for the 26-year-old to leave this summer.

Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta are both dreaming of signing Alvarez, and now could be the time to start accelerating plans to convince him over a move to the Premier League champions.

Arsenal must take advantage of Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez stance

Arteta and Berta should now both be working overtime in a bid to convince Julian Alvarez to join Arsenal, given the struggles Barcelona are set to face dealing with Atletico.

Sport released a report on Sunday evening detailing why Atletico are very reluctant to deal with the Spanish champions.

Diego Simeone’s side are making one thing very clear and that is they are going to do everything to ensure Alvarez does not join Barca.

Alvarez going public over his desire to leave has put them under pressure to sell, but if they are to lose him, they prefer it was abroad to either Arsenal or PSG.

The Gunners now have a glimmer of hope in a deal for the Argentine and Arteta should be getting on the phone to the striker to sell him his project at the Emirates Stadium.

Alvarez has already told Arsenal he open to joining if his dream Barca move does not happen, so now is the time for Arteta to start talking to him.

As Premier League champions and a team expected to once again challenge for the Champions League next term, the prospect of moving to N5 should excite any player.

Alvarez would undoubtedly be the main man in Arteta’s attack, and would have players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze and potentially Morgan Rogers feeding him.

Atletico have already offered Alvarez to Arsenal, proposing a swap deal involving Viktor Gyokeres and cash.

Any potential move to the Camp Nou is set to be dragged out across the course of the summer, so in the meantime, Arsenal have plenty of time to get in the player’s ear.

Arsenal should be an easy sell to any player in world football, and now is their chance to take advantage of Barca’s complicated talks.
