Arsenal are preparing for their second game of the pre-season tour to Asia as they face Newcastle United.

The Gunners made a winning start to their campaign with a 1-0 victory over AC Milan thanks to Bukayo Saka’s tidy finish early in the second half.

Mikel Arteta has a new training drill that has been keeping the players sharp both physically and mentally ahead of the new season.

With fans also fixated on the club’s transfer business, Andrea Berta is still working away on a number of deals and former Gunner Raheem Sterling could be about to give Arsenal a major boost in one of them.

Raheem Sterling transfer to Fulham would boost Arsenal’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze

Sterling did not have the best of times in North London during his season-long loan spell from rivals Chelsea but he could be about to make some amends in the eyes of supporters.

Fulham are interested in signing Sterling, which initially spelled bad news for the Gunners with that deal seemingly affecting Fulham’s interest in Reiss Nelson.

However, reports have since emerged that Arsenal are set to offer Nelson as part of a deal to lure Eberechi Eze to the Emirates.

Eze has a release clause of £68m and Palace are determined to extract every penny of that clause. However, Berta is looking to include Nelson as part of the deal to bring down the total fee paid out.

With Arteta keen to further add to his attacking options, it will be music to his ears that Eze is desperate to join Arsenal and now former winger Sterling could play a massive part in that happening.

How does Eberechi Eze compare with Reiss Nelson and Raheem Sterling

The club chose not to sign Sterling on a permanent deal from Chelsea and Arsenal want to sell Nelson this summer to help acquire new signings one way or the other.

Arteta is obsessed with Eze and after his performance for Crystal Palace last season in both the league and leading them to their FA Cup triumph, it is easy to see why.

The real difference between Arsenal and Liverpool last season was the creativity and threat in the final third that Arne Slot’s side possessed.

Arteta is looking to bridge that gap this summer and after already securing Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres, his eyes are now firmly set on the 27-year-old England international.
