The summer transfer window is set to be a time of vast change at Arsenal, with incomings and outgoings expected.

Change is already underway as Arsenal are set to appoint Andrea Berta as sporting director, replacing Edu Gaspar who left in November.

Fans are excited by Berta’s pending arrival, with a lot of emphasis on how incomings will impact Mikel Arteta’s squad over the summer.

David Ornstein expects a ‘busy summer’ to unfold at Arsenal however, incomings aren’t the only talking point, as several players are expected to depart the club.

Jorginho’s agent present at Flamengo match

Aside from those linked with moves away are those who are nearing the end of their contracts in N5.

Berta’s arrival is not expected to impact Jorginho and Thomas Partey’s futures, as both players will be out of contract in the summer.

There was talk that Partey could be offered a slim extension however, for Jorginho, it appears that the end of the road is certainly approaching.

Joringho has been linked with a move to Flamengo, who wanted to agree a pre-contract agreement with the player in January, something that didn’t happen.

Brazilian outlet Coluna Do Fla recently provided an update on the situation, relaying that the Arsenal ace’s agent has been in Brazil to watch Flamengo.

Jorginho’s Arsenal career

It was confirmed by Flamengo’s sporting director, Jose Boto, that a meeting would take place between Jorignho’s representatives and himself.

While a move to South America could be on the cards for the Italy international, who was born in Brazil, nothing is set in stone yet.

Firstly, Arsenal declined Flamengo’s request to sign the midfielder on a pre-contract and secondly, a financial agreement with the player has not yet been struck.

It’s understood that Jorginho wants a salary of €12m, which is €2m more than Flamengo are willing to offer at this moment in time, but Coluna Do Fla states that the player ‘is willing to compromise’.

After moving to Europe at the age of 15 to pursue his footballing career in Italy, a return to his birth country could be how Jorginho’s career ends.

Players who could leave Arsenal in the summer

Jorginho isn’t the only player who looks set to leave the Emirates in the summer, with several other players linked to transfers too.

As many as three defenders could leave Arsenal, with Kieran Tierney to join Celtic, Jakub Kiwior wanted in Italy and Oleksandr Zinchenko’s future in doubt

More controversially, both Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli have been linked with exits to Saudi Arabia, something that would shock fans as both players are key to Arteta’s attack.

There’s a lot of uncertainty regarding outgoings at Arsenal this summer but what is guaranteed is that significant change will happen.
