Arsenal are likely to make a move to sign a striker in a forthcoming transfer window.
Be it in January or the upcoming summer market, Arsenal will make bringing a goalscorer to the Emirates Stadium their top priority.
Whilst Kai Havertz has largely led the line will in his time in North London, and Gabriel Jesus has produced a recent resurgence in his form, the fact remains that the Gunners lack firepower.
Mikel Arteta will know that his side needs a ruthless, clinical finisher, who can be relied upon to regularly convert chances into goals. The recent injury to Bukayo Saka will have emphasised the need to add another more prolific attacker to his ranks.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of strikers over the course of the last year or so, with Newcastle United star Alexander Isak amongst the club’s potential targets.

Alexander Isak makes decision amid Arsenal interest
Arteta is aware that the Sweden international won’t come cheap. Arsenal know that Isak has been given a £150 million price tag by Newcastle.
Equally, though, the Gunners have shown in recent windows that they are willing to spend big to secure their top targets. The club broke through the £100 million barrier for the first time to bring Declan Rice to the Emirates Stadium, for instance.
However, it may be of greater concern to Arteta that Isak would be more than happy to turn down a move to Arsenal and remain at St James’ Park if he can play Champions League football for the Magpies.
As reported by The Sun, seemingly even if the Gunners were willing to pay the forward’s transfer fee, Isak would be: “Prepared to stay at St James Park – if the club finishes in the top four.”
As things stand, Newcastle are very much in the race to qualify for Europe’s elite club competition this season.
There is nothing Arteta can really do to stop Newcastle from qualifying for the Champions League, and if Eddie Howe’s side were to achieve that aim then it could seemingly ruin the Spanish coach’s transfer plans.
Arsenal striker transfer targets
Isak is not the only striker in Arteta’s sights, though.
Arsenal have also been linked with Viktor Gyokeres.
A compatriot of Isak’s, the Sporting striker has been in sensational form for the Portuguese outfit recently. However, he is another target who the Gunners would have to spend big to sign.
What’s more, Manchester United may have an edge over Arsenal in the race to sign Gyokeres.
In any case, it is vital when Arsenal do decide to invest in a striker, they identify the right target. A costly transfer misstep in this part of the pitch could have devastating consequences for Arteta’s project.
