Arsenal beat Ipswich 1-0 at the Emirates
Arsenal ended the year in second place in the Premier League table, with 2024’s action capped off with a victory over Ipswich.
Myles Lewis-Skelly starred against Ipswich in a game that was rather mundane for the most part, as Kai Havertz netted the only goal.
While Havertz was awarded Man of the Match for his match-winning contribution, it was Jurrien Timber who impressed most against Ipswich, shining at right-back.
The Gunners will see the win as a crucial three points, in a game that should’ve seen more goals, as Arsenal were denied a penalty after Liam Delap’s foul on Gabriel Magalhaes.

Martin Odegaard disappoints against Ipswich
During the victory over Ipswich, captain Martin Odegaard was slammed for an incident during the second half.
It was journalist Henry Winter who brought the skipper’s behaviour to attention, describing Odegaard as acting ‘beneath’ his usual standards.
The Norweigan went down easily after being brushed by an Ipswich player, a move that the referee fell for, denying Ipswich of a break.
Odegaard’s recent performances haven’t pleased Arsenal fans, calling for the 26-year-old to raise the bar.

Bukayo Saka’s haunting injury timeframe
The win over Kieran McKenna’s side was a cause for celebration however, the mood was short-lived as Arteta shared an update on Bukayo Saka’s fitness.
It was confirmed that Saka underwent surgery to solve his hamstring problem, which could see him out of action for months rather than weeks.
An injury expert shared the verdict that Saka could miss up to four months of action as a result, in what is a major blow to Arsenal’s title hopes.
