As Arsenal enter the transfer market, Andrea Berta must beware of some risky moves when it comes to bidding wars for players.
While Arsenal will sign Martin Zubimendi for £51 million, they have been rather uncontested in landing his signature, despite some interest elsewhere.
As it stands, the North London club are looking to bolster their ranks in the forward areas next, as a striker and a winger are set as the priority.
Plenty of links have appeared over possible signings for Arsenal in those areas, which include a potential free agent.

Tottenham make a bigger offer than Arsenal for Leroy Sane deal
Arsenal have been linked with Leroy Sane as a potential option to strengthen their wide options in the summer transfer window.
The German international is facing a possible exit from Bayern Munich in the next month, with his contract coming to an end.
As it stands, Arsenal have held contact with Sane’s representatives over a move, though they may be hijacked by their rivals.
That’s because, according to Sky Sports Switzerland, Tottenham have currently offered a “significantly higher financial offer” than the Gunners.
With Spurs making their return to the Champions League, the race is on for them to rapidly improve their ranks for next season.
Arsenal, while in the race for Leroy Sane, face no such rush, so they must avoid the chaos caused by their nearest and dearest rivals.

Andrea Berta must avoid Raheem Sterling repeat mistake with Leroy Sane
Arsenal have been here before with wingers in the transfer market, looking to add quality and then landing those who may have their best years behind them.
Raheem Sterling is a prime example, joining on loan from Chelsea late in the 2024 summer transfer window.
While it was something of a last-minute panic signing, the winger was simply unable to make a lasting impact at the Emirates Stadium.

Some of the decision-making behind landing Sterling may have come down to the quality he has shown in the past, along with working under Arteta at Manchester City.
Those could be similar reasons to landing Sane, who had some of his better years of his career at Man City and early on at Bayern Munich.
With his peak years now here, there may be a temptation to go big on a player who has shown that quality in the past.
However, Sterling’s failed move to Arsenal may be a warning to Berta that it should be a deal worth avoiding, especially if Tottenham force a bidding war.
