Tottenham could be about to make a signing that will cause Mikel Arteta another big problem

Andrea Berta will be very wary of what Tottenham are plotting to do in the summer transfer window.

It must be said that the majority of Arsenal’s rivals have had a very strong transfer window.

Fortunately, so have the Gunners, as Mikel Arteta’s squad has been strengthened with six new faces.

The number is expected to rise, as the incomings will be balanced by suspected outgoings, with it very clear that Arsenal need at least one more signing.

Tottenham’s interest in Savinho has repercussions for Arsenal

Signing Viktor Gyokeres was a huge coup this summer, as last season, it was abundantly clear that Arsenal needed a striker.

That being said, when it comes to attacking acquisitions, the Gunners are still lacking, with only Noni Madueke and Gyokeres representing forward signings.

Eberechi Eze is wanted by Arsenal, but the Crystal Palace star isn’t the only player on Berta’s list.

Rodrygo has been a target for Arsenal throughout the summer as his Real Madrid future is unclear, but now, two of the Gunners’ Premier League rivals could stop a deal from ever happening.

Tottenham have shown an interest in signing Savinho from Manchester City, which has prompted Pep Guardiola to take a closer look at Rodrygo

That’s the understanding of Fabrizio Romano, who took to X to confirm that City are ‘considering’ making a move for the Brazilian amid expected exits.

Romano noted that ‘Savinho can leave’, opening the door for the winger to move to Spurs and, more concerningly, Rodrygo to make his way to the Etihad.

It’s a double blow for Arteta, who would not only see two of his rivals strengthened but also see one of his key targets join a fellow Premier League title challenger.

Exits will give Arsenal transfer clarity

Since Cristhian Mosquera’s unveiling, things have gone quiet on the transfer front for Arsenal.

That’s with regard to incomings anyway, as it appears that Berta’s focus has switched to exits.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is wanted by Fenerbahce and also Fulham, who also want Reiss Nelson

The futures of several players are still unclear, which subsequently makes the outlook on further incomings rather clouded.

It’s unclear where the squad will need strengthening amid expected change, and it’s also unknown how much Arsenal will make from the pending sales.

For now, Berta will sit tight and assess the Gunners’ targets, hoping that Arsenal’s rivals don’t win the race.
