Arsenal are keeping tabs on Victor Osimhen’s future ahead of the striker’s expected summer transfer, sources close to Arsenal Insider understand.
Mikel Arteta wanted to sign a striker but it wasn’t meant to be in January, leaving all eyes on the summer transfer window.
There are several players on Arsenal’s transfer list, including a vast array of goalscorers to the delight of supporters.
Stan Kroenke has money to spend in the summer and will have to do so to keep Arteta’s project alive, with Victor Osimhen one player that the Arsenal board could target.

Victor Osimhen on Arsenal’s summer transfer radar
Arsenal made contact for Osimhen in the January window as the Nigeria international continues to impress on loan at Galatasaray.
It’s no surprise that the Gunners were considering making a move for the striker, who after falling out with Napoli, is set to be available for a cut-price in the summer.
Reports suggest that Osimhen has a release clause in the region of £63m, which would be a steal for a player who is everything Arteta’s squad needs right now.
Ahead of what is set to be a decisive summer for the talisman, TBR Football’s Graeme Bailey told Arsenal Insider whether Arsenal could be expected to pay Osimhen’s reported release clause.
“Napoli are willing to do a deal so they won’t have to pay that release clause even though it’s a lot lower than what it previously was,” he explained.
“Release clauses are rarely paid especially with PSR in England, very few Premier League clubs pay these clauses because it’s such a massive hit with PSR.”
While the chances of Arsenal, or any English club, offering a release clause fee for the Napoli ace are slim, Bailey failed to rule out the Gunners making a move for the Nigerian.
“Arsenal are aware of him, as we said Isak and Sesko are the main two. I wouldn’t rule out Arsenal coming into play with Osimhen necessarily. He’s having a wonderful season with Galatasaray.”
The transfer expert did however confirm that nothing has been ‘heard’ regarding Arsenal favouring a move for Osimhen over the likes of primary targets Benjamin Sesko or Alexander Isak.
How Osimhen compares to Arsenal strikers
A striker signing in the summer could be considered make or break for Arsenal, who have almost no chance of winning the Premier League title this season.
The 2024/25 campaign has been a brutal warning to the club’s hierarchy to support Arteta financially in the summer, with it likely that the Gunners will miss out in a third consecutive title race.
Signing a reliable source of goals is a must, which is exactly why Osimhen will be one to watch ahead of next season.
| Player | Apps | Goals | Assists |
| Gabriel Jesus | 96 | 26 | 17 |
| Kai Havertz | 132 | 38 | 13 |
| Victor Osimhen | 96 | 68 | 14 |
Osimhen’s scoring record since the 2022/23 campaign is something quite remarkable, especially when comparing the Nigerian’s numbers to those currently trusted to lead the line at the Emirates.
Despite playing in fewer games, the 26-year-old has netted more goals than Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz combined in all competitions, which says everything that needs to be known.
Arsenal can’t afford to miss yet another trick in the transfer window when it comes to recruiting a striker, with Osimhen available and at the top of his game.
