Arsenal believe they have struck a ‘great deal’ in securing the £52m signing of Noni Madueke, Arsenal Insider understands.
Arsenal were in contact with Chelsea over Noni Madueke and journalist David Ornstein has revealed that an agreement over a £52m deal is edging ever closer.
Supporters have been urging the Gunners to splash the cash on attacking reinforcements and now have a player with proven Premier League quality that can play on both flanks.
The signing of Madueke strengthens Mikel Arteta’s squad once again for the upcoming campaign and we can now exclusively reveals Arteta’s plans for Madueke and how the deal impacts further business this summer.

Arsenal believe they have a ‘great deal’ in Noni Madueke signing
Whilst it is clear that Arsenal still need further signings in attacking areas with strong interest in the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze, the club are ‘happy’ with the capture of Madueke.
Arsenal Insider’s chief transfer expert Graeme Bailey has explained that the club believe they have secured a ‘great deal’ with Chelsea and are excited by the versatility that Madueke possesses.
Bailey stated: “Madueke is a player Arsenal have appreciated for years and looked closely at him at PSV before he joined Chelsea. Arsenal think getting Madueke at £52million is a great deal, maybe not a ‘bargain’ but they are very happy with it.
“Madueke offers options to Arsenal, but primarily they see him on the right. People wonder about all these options, but let’s look at it – from their squad last season they have lost Raheem Sterling, so they have replaced him with his Chelsea team-mate.
“It can be that simple. But Leandro Trossard is also likely going, Gabriel Jesus still isn’t fit – they do need him.”
Arsenal have a £200m budget this summer and with player sales proving problematic so far, there may be a worry over further incomings after already having spent £51m on Martin Zubimendi as well as the £52m on Madueke.
However, Bailey has called for calm on the situation and believes the Madueke signing has no impact on other targets.
Bailey explained: “Does this rule out Rodrygo, Eberechi Eze or any other options? Certainly not.”
Leandro Trossard’s Arsenal future now in doubt
Madueke’s arrival along with the expected recruitment of further attacking firepower will mean that the Gunners will need to offload some players.
Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson have already been told they can leave the club but Leandro Trossard now faces an uncertain future.
Fenerbahce are interested in Trossard although Fabrizio Romano has claimed that no concrete offer has been placed despite reports that Jose Mourinho had already made his move.
Arteta’s squad is likely to undergo a number of changes this summer and he will be hoping to have the bulk of transfer dealings sorted before his players fly out to Asia for their pre-season preparations.
