Arsenal have been linked to Leroy Sane, with a possible move for the winger in the summer now explored by sources close to Arsenal Insider.

There’s no doubt that Arsenal will want to sign an attacking player in the summer after Mikel Arteta pleaded for a forward in January.

With Andrea Berta set to be appointed sporting director, there’s a greater chance that the much-needed reinforcements will be delivered.

Berta signed some top strikers at Atletico Madrid and could do the same at Arsenal, with one forward target rumoured to be Leroy Sane.

Leroy Sane to Arsenal transfer explored

BILD reported Christian Falk reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Sane on a free transfer in the summer.

The German was one of the names on Arsenal’s transfer shortlist ahead of the winter window, with the chance to sign the 29-year-old now re-emerging.

Sane’s contract at Bayern Munich expires in the summer, with it thought that the forward will move on, and several clubs are already eyeing the winger’s next steps.

Speaking to Arsenal Insider about Arsenal’s interest in Sane was Graeme Bailey of TBR Football, who revealed that the Gunners are one of the clubs that the player’s representatives are ‘talking to’.

“I am told that Sane’s people are talking to clubs, keeping his options open – one of those is Arsenal. They like him but are doing their work on a lot of players.”

The transfer expert insisted that the former Manchester City star is on Arsenal’s radar but, so are plenty of other players who could bolster Arteta’s front line.

What’s interesting about links to Sane is that Arteta used to coach the Germany international at Man City but, Bailey explained that such would not play a part in possible negotiations.

“I am told that Arteta, having previously worked with him, won’t play a significant part in anything, he is a top international footballer that Arsenal are aware of.”

Sane’s record in the Premier League

Arsenal have been linked to Sane for some time, with there now a possibility that the 29-year-old could make his way to North London in the summer.

The Gunners like the player, as expected, as the German enjoyed an impressive time at City, where he won two Premier League titles.

25 goals
29 appearances
2x Premier League winner

Aside from being a two-time Premier League winner, Pep Guardiola’s signing won the FA Cup and two Carabao Cups, recording a total of 135 appearances for City.

Sane’s Premier League career ended in 2020 as the winger signed for Bayern Munich, leaving England having contributed to 54 league goals in only 90 appearances.

Arsenal could be tempted to explore a possible deal for Sane in the summer when the player will be a free agent, in what could be a smart acquisition for the Gunners.
