Arsenal’s dream target for over a year has been Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle United star scored 27 goals in all competitions last season and convinced many people that he is the best striker in the Premier League.

Arsenal have had Isak on their radar for a long time. The Gunners wanted him when he was at Real Sociedad many years ago, but no move materialised then.

The expectation was that Isak would not be available in this window either, but that could now change.

Stan Kroenke’s stance on signing Alexander Isak for Arsenal after Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal are on the verge of signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.

The Gunners have struck a deal with the Portuguese champions after weeks of negotiations. Gyokeres will have a medical on Friday before flying out to Asia to join his new teammates.

Arsenal have got their striker now, but after news emerged that Alexander Isak has told Newcastle United that he wants to explore a move away, fans have started dreaming.

Arsenal Insider exclusively revealed that Arsenal felt Isak had his eyes on something else, which is why they moved on to Gyokeres.

Now, with the striker suddenly available for a transfer, Mikel Arteta would love to sign him, but Stan Kroenke is not expected to sanction a move.

The Independent have claimed that ‘it is seen as virtually impossible that Arsenal’s Kroenke ownership will extend the budget’ to land Isak this summer.

Signing Gyokeres for ‘less than half of Isak’s anticipated price’ will likely be the only striker signing at Arsenal this summer.

Stan Kroenke has the opportunity to make a massive statement

The Kroenkes own several teams across different sports.

Many of their teams in North America have won the biggest honours, but Arsenal are yet to get over the final hurdle under KSE’s ownership.

We’re sure Stan and Josh Kroenke would love to see Arsenal win the Premier League and Champions League too, and for that to happen, they need to show a bit more ambition.

All the signings in this window have been fantastic, and the Kroenkes deserve praise for sanctioning the moves.

But a personal push to land Isak, along with his compatriot Gyokeres, could make Arsenal the favourites to win everything next season.
