Arsenal’s interest in Julian Alvarez is old news to everyone.
It has been clear for a while now that the Gunners are keen on signing the World Cup winner, and many feel he is the missing piece.
There have even been reports that an Alvarez-Viktor Gyokeres swap deal could be on the cards, which would be interesting, to say the least.
Now, some details about Arsenal’s scouting report for Alvarez have come to light.

Arsenal’s scouting report on Julian Alvarez showed he is perfect for Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta does a lot of research before signing a player for Arsenal.
It’s not just a target’s stats and underlying figures that matter – even their life outside of football is taken into consideration before a decision is made.
The first stage, however, is football, which is why Arteta instructed the members of his coaching staff to prepare a detailed report about Julian Alvarez.
That instruction was followed by the staff, and the end result was far from surprising.

Isaan Khan of the Daily Mail has revealed that the report showed Alvarez was the ideal forward option for Arteta and Arsenal going into next season.
The journalist tweeted: “Earlier in the year, Arsenal staff were tasked with gathering data on Alvarez to assess whether he would fit the team’s required profile.
“That included his injury record, physiological numbers and playing output. The result was emphatic: he fits the requirements of Arsenal’s team, and Arteta wants him.
“Though from Alvarez’s side, Barcelona is the dream move. On the flipside, Atletico do hold an interest in Viktor Gyokeres.”

Arsenal may need to be prepared for a long saga if they want Julian Alvarez
Alvarez has all but made it known that he wants to join Barcelona this summer.
The Catalans are keen too, but whether they can convince Atletico Madrid, who have publicly dismissed Barca’s interest, remains to be seen.
If a move to the Camp Nou becomes impossible, Alvarez would be prepared to join Arsenal, but that is only likely to happen after the World Cup – perhaps even in the final weeks of the summer window.
So, Arsenal must be prepared for a long saga to have a chance of signing Alvarez.
That isn’t really ideal, but if Arteta is adamant that he wants the Argentine, it may well be what Andrea Berta ends up doing.
