Arsenal were linked with a move for Leicester City star Youri Tielemans last month but a move always looked more likely in the summer.
The Belgian will enter the final year of his contract in July. It doesn’t look like he’ll sign a new deal at the King Power and the Gunners are set to try and take advantage of that situation.
Tielemans has been one of Leicester’s best players since he joined them. He has been brilliant in the Premier League and he really should be an option for us as we look to move on from Granit Xhaka.

Arsenal-linked Tielemans will cost less than Xhaka
According to Het Nieuwsblad, Tielemans is already preparing to leave Leicester City at the end of the season.
Manchester United, who have needed a new midfielder for a while now, have been credited with an interest, but Goal claimed last month that Arsenal have already held talks with his agent over a summer move.
To add to that, the report from Belgium claims that Tielemans could be available for a fee of just £33.7 million. That’s less than what Arsenal paid Borussia Monchengladbach for Granit Xhaka back in 2016. (BBC)
We have to say, that’s a bargain fee for a player as talented as Tielemans.

The Insider’s View:
Arsenal only have Thomas Partey, Xhaka and Mo Elneny at central midfield at the moment. The latter will be a free agent in the summer, while the Swiss international could move on with Roma still reportedly keen.
The Gunners could’ve done with a new midfielder last month but one in the summer is now an absolute necessity. We have to strengthen in the middle of the park and Tielemans is a fantastic option.
The Belgian, despite only being 24, has already played over 400 games for club and country. He is very experienced at the top level and is used to the intensity of the Premier League as well.
Tielemans is an incredible option for us and at just under £34 million, we should seriously consider signing him.
