‘Bored’ – Manchester United legend makes damning claim about Arsenal without two specific players

Arsenal have struggled to deliver exciting football in forward areas at times this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side have created a formidable defensive unit in the Premier League, but have lacked a cutting edge in certain tight games.

The Gunners are crying out for an injection of life into their offensive cohort, with a prolific striker or dynamic winger needed in Arteta’s squad.

Arsenal thrashed Manchester City 5-1 in their most recent league game, indicating that they have the talent to dismantle teams occasionally, although this level of performance hasn’t been consistent throughout the campaign.

Paul Scholes claims that he’s ‘bored of watching Arsenal’

Despite only Liverpool scoring more Premier League goals than Arsenal this season, there’s a feeling that Arteta’s team have regressed into terms of entertaining fans.

Dull draws against the likes of Fulham, Everton and Brighton likely drive this narrative, which has become dominant in the mainstream.

Bukayo Saka is out until March with a hamstring injury, and hasn’t been available since early December, which has evidently hindered the North Londoners attacking play.

Speaking on the Overlap, former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes claimed he’s bored of watching Arsenal.

“I’m really bored of watching Arsenal,” he said.

“It’s the same thing every week without a centre-forward and Saka who brings excitement and skill, and can win a game on his own.

“You beat City 5-1, but you need these big centre-forwards, big-game players who can get you those 1-0 wins. And I’m really struggling watching it.

“It’s some lovely football and it’s nice, but it’s not exciting because there’s nothing at the end of it.”

Arsenal need a striker to reignite attack

A lot of the frustration around Arsenal’s performances certainly stems from the team’s lack of an exuberant number nine.

Kai Havertz has been scoring at a reasonable rate, but not quite with the elite frequency that ignites stagnant attacks.

The German is functional and extremely effective in many facets of the game, such as providing a focal point from long balls and leading the press.

However, he doesn’t do the eye-catching things in the final third that get fans off their seats, which is undoubtedly contributing to this ‘boring’ narrative.

The Gunners need to address this in the next transfer window by signing a new striker.

Alexander Isak is on Arsenal’s radar, and the Newcastle man would certainly excite the watching world if the North Londoners were somehow able to pull of a move for the player.
