Cristhian Mosquera arrival could end Takehiro Tomiyasu’s Arsenal adventure

Arsenal are interested in signing Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia and the defender’s arrival would spell bad news for Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Tomiyasu is currently out injured until the end of the calendar year following knee surgery and would be too far down Arteta’s pecking order upon recovery.

Arsenal have a problem in selling the Japanese international this summer due to his injury but would then face difficulty in the January transfer window given the fitness risk he poses.

Mosquera is a right sided centre-back and would mean that Tomiyasu is behind him and the likes of Ben White and Jurrien Timber in Arteta’s plans.
