Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued an injury update ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester City at the Emirates.

The Gunners have several fitness issues in their camp, with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus ruled out for several months.

However, City are expected to be without Ruben Dias, while Jeremy Doku is also a doubt ahead of the game.

Arsenal saw off Girona in comfortable fashion with a heavily rotated team in midweek, but they’ll need their best possible line-up to stifle a Pep Guardiola side that is returning to form.

Arsenal injury update for Man City clash

Saka is out until at least March after undergoing hamstring surgery, while Jesus will be out for nine months after sustaining an ACL injury.

Meanwhile, Takehiro Tomiyasu isn’t expected to feature in any upcoming games with an unknown issue that has plagued the defender all season.

David Raya missed Arsenal’s game against Girona through injury, and Arteta has provided an update regarding his potential availability for the City encounter.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday afternoon, the tactician revealed that the goalkeeper could feature in the game.

“With David, we’re still uncertain,” he said.

“We have another session tomorrow, another 48 hours so we have to wait and see.

“It’s a muscular injury, so we have to wait and see.”

Raya’s replacement, Neto, struggled on his debut on Wednesday, so Arsenal fans will be desperately hoping that the Spanish shot-stopper is deemed fit.

In another update, Arteta provided clarity around Ben White’s fitness levels.

Reports last week indicated that White has returned to training, but the Arsenal boss revealed that this isn’t true.

“Ben is definitely out, he hasn’t trained with us yet so he’s not going to be available, and no other [fitness] news from the game against Girona.”

Man City injury updates and status

With City set to travel to N5 to take on title contenders Arsenal, there are a number of issues facing Guardiola and his side.

Rodri is out for the season with an ACL injury, while Nathan Ake is sidelined with a muscular problem, with no return date issued for the Dutchman as of yet.

Meanwhile, Oscar Bobb is close to returning to action after fracturing his leg at the start of the season.

As aforementioned, Dias won’t feature against the Gunners, and Doku faces a late fitness test.
