Arsenal and Manchester City are battling it out for the Premier League title once again.
The two clubs, led by their managers Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola, went toe-to-toe in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
Arsenal fell just short on both occasions, but Opta has claimed that the Gunners are the favourites to win the Premier League title this campaign.
Paul Merson has backed the North Londoners too, and he thinks an Arsenal title win could lead to a big departure at the Etihad Stadium.
If you could change one thing at Arsenal right now to guarantee the Premier League title, what would it be and why?
Paul Merson says Pep Guardiola will ‘get out’ of Manchester City if Arsenal win the Premier League
Guardiola will go down as one of the best managers the Premier League has ever seen.
The Spaniard has won it all at Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and now Manchester City, and he is still going strong after more than nine years at the club.
However, there are suggestions that Guardiola could leave City at the end of this season, one year before his contract expires.
It’s still unclear what the 54-year-old will do, but Merson thinks he will definitely resign from his role at the Etihad if Arsenal win the Premier League title this season.
Speaking about Arsenal before their game against Everton, Merson said on Sky Sports: “I think they win the league.
“There are 22 games to go. Their squad is so big and so strong. They win the league, in my opinion. If there were six games to go and I was sitting here and it was two points, then I’m going Man City.
“I think if they don’t win it this season, I think he [Guardiola] will know that will probably be it, and Arsenal will dominate for a while. I think he will get out.”

Arsenal will dominate the Premier League if Pep Guardiola leaves Manchester City
Arsenal have the best squad in the Premier League.
Manchester City are still very dangerous and are breathing down the Gunners’ necks at the moment. They definitely have what it takes to pip them again.
The reason for that is Guardiola. The Spaniard is arguably the greatest manager of all time, and if anyone can do it, he can.
A Premier League medal? A new signing? What would you give Mikel Arteta for Christmas and why?
However, if Guardiola leaves, Arsenal will become the most dominant team in the Premier League.
The Gunners have a young yet experienced squad, an elite manager, and multiple options in every single position.
As long as they keep Arteta, they will be a level above every other club in the country and could become the favourites to win the league for a few years.
