Peter Crouch has made a bold prediction about one of Arsenal’s rising stars ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League kick-off.
Arsenal visit Old Trafford on the opening day in a Premier League blockbuster to get things underway.
Mikel Arteta will be desperate to finally deliver the title to N5 after missing out on the top spot for three consecutive seasons.
Already, predictions about whether Arsenal can win the league are flooding in, but they’re not the only calls being made about the Gunners.

Peter Crouch backs Myles Lewis-Skelly to win Young Player of the Year
The start of a new season is exciting, with teams given a blank canvas to create history.
From Golden Boot winners to relegation candidates, predictions are here, there and everywhere, with Peter Crouch the latest to get involved in the discussion.
Speaking to TNT Sports Football, Crouch predicted that one Arsenal player could win a prestigious award.
“I’ll go Lewis-Skelly to win Young Player of the Year,” the former Liverpool striker said.
Crouch believes Myles Lewis-Skelly will beat off the competition to win the 2025/26 Young Player of the Year award, which would mean him beating teammate Ethan Nwaneri to the prize.
Nwaneri is set to have a huge season ahead of him at Arsenal, particularly after signing a new deal with his boyhood club, but Crouch sees even bigger things happening for Lewis-Skelly.
It’s a fair, but bold, assessment, considering that Lewis-Skelly is nominated for the 2024/25 Young Player of the Year award.
The 18-year-old is in the running to win the prize, as is Nwaneri, with the other candidates being Dean Huijsen, Liam Delap, Milos Kerkez and Morgan Rogers.
Lewis-Skelly will hope to claim the prize, which is unveiled on 18th August, with Crouch believing the teen could be in the same position next year.
Arsenal players who have won the Young Player of the Year award
Last season was a huge one for Lewis-Skelly, who also has a nomination at the Ballon d’Or, being in the running for the Kopa Trophy.
With Lamine Yamal and Desire Doue also nominated, it’s difficult to see the Hale End product winning the prize, but when it comes to the PFA Young Player of the Year, the 18-year-old certainly has a chance.
| Season | Player |
| 1986/87 | Tony Adams |
| 1988/89 | Paul Merson |
| 1998/99 | Nicolas Anelka |
| 2007/08 | Cesc Fabregas |
| 2010/11 | Jack Wilshere |
| 2022/23 | Bukayo Saka |
Lewis-Skelly could join a list of six Arsenal representatives to have won the award, with the last to claim it being Bukayo Saka in 2023.
It would be fitting for the academy graduate to be crowned with individual silverware after his spectacular breakthrough season.
