Bukayo Saka is the talk of the town after Arsenal’s win against West Ham United, with Thierry Henry the latest to discuss the winger.

Arsenal beat West Ham 2-0 to go top of the Premier League table heading into the October international break.

While Martin Zubimendi impressed against the Hammers and Declan Rice scored against his former club, the day undoubtedly belonged to Saka.

Mikel Arteta called Saka ‘unbelievable’ as he hit two major milestones during the contest, recording his 100th Premier League goal contribution in his 200th Premier League appearance for Arsenal.

Thierry Henry sends a special message to Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka

It was an occasion to remember for the winger, who scored from the spot while wearing the captain’s armband.

Scoring was the icing on the cake during Arsenal’s decisive win, as Saka followed in Thierry Henry’s footsteps by finding the net on his 200th Premier League appearance.

Following the afternoon of highs for the Arsenal academy product, his weekend got even better, as Henry sent a special message to the 24-year-old.

On Instagram, the Arsenal legend celebrated the magnitude of Saka’s achievement, sending an emotional 27-word message.

“From the ACADEMY to the EMIRATES. From your DEBUT to 200 PL GAMES, with 55 GOALS and 45 ASSISTS!!!KEEP on MOVING BUKAYO!!!!! So PROUD of YOU.”

It was a nice touch from Henry, who has been the inspiration for so many who have taken the same path as Saka from Hale End to the Arsenal first team.

Saka will be chasing Henry’s Premier League record

Saka’s achievement deserves to be celebrated, but above all, the winger will be delighted to have led Arsenal to three points.

Added to that, it was a triumph in itself that the Englishman was able to finish 90 minutes, the first time he’d done so since returning from his hamstring injury.

What Saka won’t want is more time on the sidelines after missing a chunk of the 2024/25 season due to undergoing surgery.

Time is precious, as Saka knows, as before he was forced to sit months out last term, he was on course to break Henry’s Premier League assist record.

This time last season, Saka had seven league assists in seven appearances, giving him 31 games to record a further 14 to break Henry’s record of 20.

Instead, the campaign went far from as hoped for the forward, whose injury slowed things down.

Now back and ready to influence things for his boyhood club, the sky is the limit for Saka.
