Tony Pulis has hailed Arsenal’s ability from set-pieces and believes they have benefited tremendously from Nicolas Jover’s work at the Emirates Stadium.

Jover’s coaching has been hailed by many at Arsenal, having added a real threat to the Gunners’ locker.

Gabriel Magalhaes now strikes fear into opponents due to his presence at set pieces. Meanwhile, Declan Rice’s delivery has also become one of Arsenal’s biggest threats from corners.

When asked about Arsenal’s set pieces, Pulis told That Peter Crouch Podcast: “This season, no team has scored more set-pieces than Arsenal, with Arteta’s team netting ten times from these situations.

“Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and I respect them enormously for actually looking at set plays and going, last year we just missed out because they can outplay teams.

“We have a question of doubt. They get clean sheets. And now they’ve added something else to their armoury. They can now score regularly from set plays. So they have now cracked it for me. They’ve got everything.”

It will come as no surprise to see that Arsenal are leading the way for most Premier League set-piece goals this season.

No team has scored more goals from set plays than the Gunners, with ten, and Chelsea are currently sitting in second with eight.

One of the Gunners’ best moments of the season came from a corner, as Gabriel scored the winning goal against Newcastle in stoppage time at St James’ Park.

Meanwhile, Gary Lineker has dismissed claims that Arsenal are ‘over-reliant’ on set-pieces, and has also praised their ability to be so dangerous in this department.
