Set-pieces have become a key talking point at the Emirates over recent months and Gary Lineker has now had his say on the situation at Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta’s team are so well-drilled in these situations, and their record from set-pieces this season is mightily impressive.

Last weekend, Viktor Gyokeres ended his goal drought after Gabriel Magalhaes headed Declan Rice’s corner back across the goal and into the path of the Swede.

There has been a fair amount of talk about the Gunners’ reliance on these situations; however, Gary Lineker has issued his verdict on set-pieces at Arsenal.

Gary Lineker is not worried about Arsenal’s ‘over-reliance’ on set-pieces

Gary Lineker has told Arsenal fans not to worry about the team’s ‘over-reliance’ on set-pieces, as right now it is working for them.

Arsenal set a Premier League record by becoming the first team to score eight goals from corners in their first 10 games of the season.

During the win at Turf Moor, Arsenal fans celebrated every corner like it was a goal, showing what a threat the team has now become from these situations.

Following the 3-0 win in the Champions League during midweek, Lineker told The Rest Is Football: “I was watching Arsenal again, Rice was terrific again.

“They don’t concede a goal, they’ve not conceded a single goal in the Champions League in four games and won all three. Conceded one in four games, I should say,” to which Richards replied: “Set piece FC though…”

“Set piece FC, that’s it. Oh yeah, well, if it works, who cares, I would say. If I were in Arsenal, I wouldn’t be the slightest bit concerned about that,” added Lineker.

Arsenal’s top three set-piece goals this season, including Gabriel Magalhaes vs Newcastle

Gabriel’s winning goal against Newcastle has to be Arsenal’s most impressive set-piece routine of the season, given the drama of the situation.

William Saliba was very smart during the move as he marked Nick Pope and used his body well to stop the Newcastle keeper from reaching the ball.

Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi’s wonder strike against Nottingham Forest was another memorable moment from an Arsenal set-piece.

The Spaniard caught the ball on the edge of the penalty area and produced a sumptuous strike past Matz Sels in the Forest net.

Finally, Jurrien Timber’s header against Leeds was another impressive moment from the Gunners, as the visitors stood no chance defending the Dutchman.
