Incoming sporting director Andrea Berta will have a big challenge on his hands with Arsenal transfer plans this summer, with some big decisions ahead of him.

The Gunners look set to miss out on the Premier League title, an honour they have been chasing for the past few years under Mikel Arteta.

With Arsenal getting close, yet so far, in the league, there are some huge decisions to make in terms of improvements within the squad.

There are three clear areas where Andrea Berta could improve, so with that said, here’s a look at those.

Striker option for Arsenal is key

The number one area that Berta must sort is the striker ranks, with the position being a particular problem for Arsenal.

As it stands, both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are out injured for the rest of the season, leaving Mikel Arteta short on options.

Beyond that, even with their availability, both strikers have struggled to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

It remains to be seen who Arsenal will land, though links have seen Benjamin Sesko and Alexander Isak linked.

Arsenal need a midfielder in the transfer window

A midfielder is another option out there that Arsenal need when it comes to the summer transfer window.

Both Thomas Partey and Jorginho look set to leave Arsenal at the end of their contracts, with just a few months remaining on them.

Plenty of midfielders have been linked, with Arsenal eyeing a deal for Martin Zubimendi in the coming window.

Sverre Nypan is another transfer option, with plenty of links surrounding him too.

Winger option is key for Arsenal transfers

The third and final area that Arsenal should look to strengthen this summer is in the wide areas, particularly on the left.

The right flank finally looks well-stocked with Bukayo Saka, thanks to some competition from Ethan Nwaneri.

On the left, though, neither Gabriel Martinelli nor Leandro Trossard have been able to hit the sort of form they would like.

Arsenal could land a player who can create something from nothing, with Nico Williams among those rumoured with a switch.
