Arsenal are watching those around them strengthen early in the 2025 summer transfer window.
Already, Manchester United have bolstered their squad by signing Arsenal target Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
The same goes for Premier League champions Liverpool, who instantly replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.
It’s rapidly become clear that clubs understand they can’t wait around to land targets, putting pressure on Andrea Berta to succeed in his first summer at Arsenal.

Goncalo Ramos and Kang-in Lee allowed to leave PSG
Berta’s job in the summer is clear: bolster the depth in Mikel Arteta’s squad, particularly in attacking areas.
Arsenal already have a dozen names on their transfer wishlist, however, this could change as the Gunners have been given an incentive to revisit a former target.
In January, Arsenal discussed the possibility of signing Kang-in Lee from Paris Saint-Germain, but a deal never materialised.
The Korean winger isn’t the only player of Luis Enrique’s that has caught the attention of those in North London, as Arsenal have been linked to Goncalo Ramos.
What is interesting about the discussion regarding the two players is that L’Equipe have revealed that PSG are willing to part ways with the pair.
It’s understood that while the forwards have contracts that run until 2028, PSG will not stand in their way to leave the club, but only if the right price is presented.
The Parisians signed Ramos for €80m in 2024 and acquired Lee the year prior for £18m from Mallorca.
Andrea Berta given the chance to pounce on double PSG gift, but is it right for Arsenal?
Though the duo could solve two pressing transfer problems at Arsenal, being a striker and a wide player, Berta might have some reservations.
Firstly, PSG just won the Champions League and showed the Gunners what they were missing during the semi-finals, so why would the North Londoners look to bolster their squad with players not wanted by the team they are trying to catch?
| Statistic | Goncalo Ramos | Kang-in Lee |
| Appearances | 41 | 45 |
| Starts | 16 | 26 |
| Goals | 18 | 6 |
| Assists | 6 | 6 |
Added to that is the urgency for Arsenal to recruit talent that is ready and raring to go, and with two players who are not in PSG’s favoured XI nor clued up on the English game, there’s a considerable risk.
Though both Ramos and Lee are incredibly talented and still early into their careers, there’s very little room for error at the Emirates this summer.
Taking the bait from PSG could end in tears for Arsenal, who must shift the narrative of aiming to polish other clubs’ faded figures.
