Andrea Berta has well and truly settled into his role at Arsenal.
Berta has sent shockwaves around Europe for his aggressive nature in the transfer market already as he eyes potential deals to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad for next season.
Arsenal are weighing up striker options according to David Ornstein as both Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko continue to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Berta is set for a ‘meeting’ with Julian Alvarez as he chases the former Manchester City star for the second summer in a row having brought him to Atletico Madrid in 2024. However, that pursuit spells trouble for one current Arsenal player.

Arsenal’s Julian Alvarez interest spells the end for Gabriel Jesus
With reports claiming the Gunners are ‘very interested’ in Alvarez, it sounds alarm bells for the future of current forward Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus has stepped up his injury recovery following a horrific ACL injury sustained back in January during the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
The Brazilian’s time in North London has been hampered by injuries but he has also received criticism for his lack of goals when fit.
Alvarez’s ability to play in a number of positions along the forward line and the fact he has proven Premier League and Champions League experience means that Jesus’s time could be coming to an end.
Arsenal may struggle to sell ‘special’ Jesus
Raheem Sterling praised Jesus earlier this season for his performance against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup and Declan Rice labelled the 28-year-old striker as ‘special’.
Given Jesus is expected to be out injured until after the summer window has closed, Berta may find it difficult to sell the Brazilian.
| Gabriel Jesus Arsenal record | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Jesus | 96 | 26 | 20 |
Supporters will still harbour hopes that Jesus can return from injury the player he was at the beginning of his Gunners’ career however, with his contract expiring in 2027, a decision will need to be made.
Should Alvarez walk through the door this summer, Jesus can expect to be among the names the club will want moving in the opposite direction.
