Arsenal supporters will have regrets this summer over what could have been.

Mikel Arteta’s side looked prime and ready to gain their first Premier League title since 2004 and had a genuine shot at Champions League glory too.

However, Arsenal’s injury crisis amongst other factors meant that the Gunners fell short in every competition and ultimately remained trophyless since their 2020 FA Cup triumph.

Thierry Henry has questioned Arteta over his inability to get over the line and the pressure has now ramped up on the Spaniard to deliver. Arsenal Insider takes a look at some early predictions for next season.

Early Arsenal predictions for the 2025-26 season

Ethan Nwaneri will replace Martin Odegaard

Ethan Nwaneri’s Arsenal future is uncertain over the player’s concerns about a pathway to Arteta’s first-team.

However, the Hale End star should reflect upon his breakthrough season with pride and knuckle down in pre-season because there is a realistic possibility he will replace Martin Odegaard as the number ten.

Declan Rice’s message to Nwaneri of ‘Just the start’ echoes the feeling around the Emirates Stadium that Nwaneri is in for a big future and that can really take off next season.

Arteta’s lack of trust in Nwaneri at the start of the season cost the Gunners some valuable points but the boss will not make that mistake again and Nwaneri is set for a starring role in Arsenal’s title tilt.

Declan Rice to turn into Frank Lampard regen

Arteta has challenged Declan Rice to continue to add goals and assists to his game from his role as the Gunners number eight.

It wasn’t the position that most supporters envisaged him playing after his record arrival from West Ham but Rice has had a major impact on the side, particularly in the second half of the season.

Martin Zubimendi’s arrival will help Rice have the freedom to arrive late into the box and after already achieving his best ever season in terms of goals and assists, he will explode next season.

19 goal contributions in total this season, Rice will be targeting 25 minimum next campaign as he continue to exert his authority as a leader within Arteta’s ranks.

Arsenal’s defence key to winning Premier League title, not a striker

Arsenal are desperate for a centre forward and Andrea Berta is in talks with Benjamin Sesko over bringing the Leipzig man to North London.

Despite a natural centre forward being a huge beneficiary in Arsenal’s challenge for the title, their defensive solidity is what will be the foundation of their success.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes will continue to establish themselves as the best centre back pairing in world football and the strength in depth Arteta possesses is incredible.

Ben White and Jurrien Timber will battle it out at right back and can rotate depending on the opposition and context, whilst Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori have their own contest on the left.

Strikers win games but defences win titles and Golden Glove winner David Raya will continue to provide security between the sticks to help the Gunners finally claim that elusive crown.
