Stan Kroenke has now done two things that could force Mikel Arteta to resign as Arsenal manager

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke often comes under criticism from the fans.

The American, along with his son Josh, are the custodians of the club, and they have done a lot of good things in recent years.

Some of the criticism they have got over the last few seasons have been a bit overboard, but the same can’t be said now.

The Kroenkes and the Arsenal board have made a few mistakes recently that could result in an unimaginable scenario very, very soon.

Mikel Arteta could resign after two of his requests were rejected by Arsenal’s board

Mikel Arteta has been a blessing to Arsenal fans over the last five years.

The Spaniard took charge of a really average Gunners side in 2019 and won the FA Cup before the end of that campaign.

Despite the ups and downs in the two seasons after that, Arteta transformed Arsenal into serious title contenders and one of the best clubs in Europe.

That deserves a lot of praise, but the Arsenal board, headed by the Kroenkes and Tim Lewis, have done two things recently that may have rubbed Arteta the wrong way.

Firstly, the Arsenal manager was not given any new signings in the winter window. Arteta made a public plea for a new attacker, but his wish was unfulfilled.

Then, Arteta requested Arsenal to extend Jorginho’s contract, but the board ‘thwarted’ his plea. The Italian is now set to join Flamengo on a free transfer in the summer.

David Ornstein claimed not too long ago that Arteta would be snapped up by one of the biggest clubs in the world within seconds if he left Arsenal.

If the Spaniard’s wishes aren’t fulfilled by the owners and the board, can you really blame him if he decides to walk away? We don’t think so.

Arteta could easily decide that he doesn’t want to deal with the Kroenkes anymore and resign at the end of the season. That would be a massive blow for Arsenal

Arsenal board’s big mistake has horribly backfired

After Arsenal smashed Manchester City 5-1, fans were hopeful of catching Liverpool and pipping them in the Premier League title race.

However, since then, everything has gone wrong.

Arsenal failed to sign anybody on transfer deadline day and then crashed out of the Carabao Cup after losing 2-0 to Newcastle in the second leg.

After that, Gabriel Martinelli suffered an injury that rules him out for a month, which was a big blow in itself. To make things worse, Kai Havertz’s season is over after he hurt his hamstring.

The decision to not sign a new attacker in the winter window has horribly backfired. This, in all likelihood, will cost Arsenal’s season, and the Kroenkes and the board are to blame.
