Arsenal now know they have just three fixtures remaining in the 2024-25 season following European disappointment.

Mikel Arteta’s side need one win from their remaining three Premier League games to ensure Champions League qualification for next season.

Arsenal will want that victory sooner rather than later to avoid any last day nerves at Southampton and it would provide Arteta the chance to give academy products a game.

Martin Zubimendi’s imminent arrival is a clear statement from Andrea Berta that he means business in the summer transfer window and that could spell bad news for some players currently at the Emirates Stadium.

Three Arsenal stars fighting for their future under Mikel Arteta

Thierry Henry criticised Arsenal for their failure to land a major trophy for the fifth consecutive season and it will leave Arteta with some serious thinking over his Arsenal squad this summer.

Viktor Gyokeres is close to signing for Arsenal and he will not be the only arrival alongside Zubimendi. The likes of Kieran Tierney and Jorginho are already expected to leave North London whilst Raheem Sterling has also not done enough to impress.

There is uncertainty over other players. So, with that said, here are three Arsenal stars fighting for their future in the remaining games of the season.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko raised the level of Arteta’s side upon his arrival in the summer of 2022 but has since fallen down the pecking order in the Gunners’ team.

Borussia Dortmund were interested in Zinchenko in January but the Ukrainian remained at Arsenal in order to help their quest for silverware.

With Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly in front of him for the left back spot and Arteta not having enough trust in Zinchenko for a midfield place, options are limited for the 28-year-old.

He now has three games and efforts on the training ground to prove that he can still be a valuable member of the squad or face a summer exit.

Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli is still a player that excites fans every time he gets the ball but his form and confidence has taken a major dip over the last couple of seasons.

It is thought Arsenal will sell Martinelli or Leandro Trossard this summer in order to free up wages to comply with PSR rules.

Trossard is set for a new Arsenal contract, meaning that Martinelli could be the player to be sacrificed in order to bring in fresh faces.

The Brazilian now has three games to prove to Arteta that he would be making a huge mistake and that the 23-year-old is still a major part of his future plans.

Jakub Kiwior

Jakub Kiwior has been outstanding since replacing Gabriel Magalhaes in the side but his future in North London remains cloudy.

Arteta blocked Kiwior’s departure in January and his recent form will only serve to drum up more interest from across Europe this summer.

Arsenal’s interest in Dean Huijsen could be a sign they are willing to depart with Kiwior but if the Polish international can continue to produce this level of consistency in the remaining three games, the Gunners may have to reconsider their stance.
