The latest news, rumours, opinions and updates about Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber from Arsenal Insider. Timber signed for the Gunners in an initial £34m, rising by £4.5m in add-ons, deal from AFC Ajax in July 2023. Mikel Arteta sought his services to secure a versatile defensive talent.
Timber quickly established himself as a key part of Arteta’s plans during Arsenal’s 2023 pre-season with appearances as a centre-back as well as at left and right-back. He also debuted at left-back against Manchester City in the 2023 Community Shield. But the Dutchman sustained an ACL injury a mere 50 minutes into his Premier League debut against Nottingham Forest at Emirates Stadium.
